Each day as I awake to a world where I've grown more comfortable with my place and mortality on this planet; noticing and grieving all the ways in which I've grown and will never be again...I am humbled by this life.
Yet, I am saddened by the multiplicity of ways in which each one of us is violent to our delicate existence. How deeply embedded judgment is in our thinking of ourselves and others. Every day we learn. Every day we are changed by the world we inhabit, everything we do changes the world we live in...yet so few of us are humble enough to respect our on-going life process.
A friend once said - "I am not the same person who you met last; who I am right now, is not the person you will greet next time I walk through that door. I am who I am right now, and tomorrow I will be someone else. What stays the same is our friendship, our soul connection and maybe our names." So much changes...
If only we could see ourselves at all times and change gently as the world turns.
